EBBETS FIELD FLANNELS FOR J.CREW

Since 1988, Seattle-based EBBETS FIELD FLANNELS® has made authentic reproductions of vintage baseball gear, right here in the USA. To celebrate an exclusive collaboration
with them, J.Crew flipped through the encyclopedias of our nation’s pastime.

The BROOKLYN BUSHWICKS were the top semipro team in the nation during
the 1930s and ’40s, and they had their own stadium—Dexter Park—in Queens

The MOHAWK GIANTS were one of baseball’s great independent black teams. Based in Schenectady, New York, they played from 1913 to 1940. The OSAKA TIGERS, founded in 1936,
were one of Japan’s earliest professional teams. They played in the iconic Koshien
Stadium, which has an all-dirt infield.

Founded in 1878, the BUFFALO BISONS—based in Buffalo, New York—played in the
International League from 1918 to 1970.
The logos of the BISMARCK CHURCHILLS, DAYTON DUCKS,
KANSAS CITY PACKERS andBROOKLYN EAGLES appear on
Ebbed's Field Flannels for J.Crew ball caps.

During World War II, many of the nation’s best ballplayers played on military service teams like the San Francisco-based SURF RIDERS, whose members were in the Coast Guard.
Generally considered one of the best minor league teams of all time, the HAWAII ISLANDERS began in 1961 when the Sacramento Solons moved to Hawaii.

NIGEL CABOURN SPRING/SUMMER 2016

Nigel Cabourn can be described in one word: consistent. The British designer has been running his namesake label for nearly 50 years with no sign of slowing down.
As expected, Cabourn presented a British workwear-inspired collection with a certain sense of modernity that can only come from him. Yes, we do get a “heritage” vibe here, but there’s more going on. Extra baggy khaki trousers compliment long dresshirts with pockets. Did we mention overalls? About 30% of this collection is also a collaboration between Cabourn and Lybro, a 1920s Liverpool workwear brand recently revived by him. Even the signs used as props in this lookbook are genuine 1940s Lybro vintage advertisements — consistency at its best.

CHIPPEWA BOOTS - THE BEST. BY FAR.

It was at the turn of the century, no not this millenium, but 1901 when J.B. Piotrowski and John Andrejski started the Chippewa Shoe Manufacturing Company. Just imagine when they launched the brand the United States were only 45 states, Walt Disney was born and in that same decade Ford Motor Co was founded and the Wright brothers took their first flight.

The company was named after Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, a small logging town located in the upper Midwest United States. Soon after the company's started, demand for the rugged boots from the local logging community increased and the company relocated from the founders original workshop to a 5 story facility on River St. in downtown Chippewa Falls that still stands today. Chippewa is the one of the oldest boot manufacturers, still producing in the US.

Chippewa has recently come out with a range of shoes and boots that draw from the label’s rich history in both design and presentation. They’re calling it the Original Chippewa Collection.
The Original Chippewa collection also contains a selection of re-issued archive shoes and boots, which have defined the Chippewa Brand. Original Archive boots are modern reproductions, made from materials like Horween leather and Vibram outsoles, and manufactured in limited numbers using traditional techniques. Each Archive boot is selected and named for its unique place in the brand’s history, like the Engineer Boot, the Logger Boot, the Snake boot and many others.

The best news is that they soon will be available in The Netherlands as well, I'm looking forward to see them in store.

SCOTT NYC: 100 YEARS OF AN AMERICAN ORIGINAL

Schott NYC (Schott Bros) is an American clothing manufacturing company located in New York City. The company was founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott. Schott NYC was the first company to put a zipper on a jacket and they created the classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, made popular in movies like The Wild One (1953). Schott NYC is still owned by the Schott family and still manufacture much of their clothing in the United States. Schott NYC is perhaps most well known for their Perfecto motorcycle jackets. In 1928 Irving Schott designed and produced the first ever leather motorcycle jacket, he named it the Perfecto after his favorite cigar. The jackets were made out of horsehide, had a belted front, D-pocket, flap change pocket, zippered sleeve cuffs and shoulder epaulettes. During World War II Schott NYC manufactured the wool naval pea coat for the US Navy. These classic designs are still manufactured by Schott NYC today. Celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, iconic NYC leather outfitter Schott has partnered with Rin Tanaka to produce a new book, Schott: 100 Years of an American Original. Furthermore they had an exhibition on display in New York, this is already closed but you can find all the goodies in the Scott NYC Flagship Store on 236, Elizabeth Street, New York.

STANLEY TURNS 100

Remember the green bottle your dad or grandpa always carried on fishing trips or on his way to work? It probably had a few scratches on it, may have even been dropped once or twice, yet despite the abuse, it always kept coffee hot... for hours. That’s the legendary Stanley bottle.
Born from inventor William Stanley Jr. who forever changed the way hot drinks were consumed in 1913, he fused vacuum insulation and the strength of steel in one portable bottle inventing the all-steel vacuum bottle we know today.
The Stanley brand has a rich history and is headquartered in Seattle, WA, home of MT Rainier and the birthplace of Jimi Hendrix. Surrounded by mountains, evergreens, and the Puget Sound, the brand live and breathe the outdoors.
