STEPPIN' OUT STORE NBR. 15 - AMSTERDAM

Yesterday, Steppin' Out opened it's doors at Gelderlandplein, Amsterdam. They revealed their new and elevated store concept.

Steppin' Out started in 1983 in Utrecht as a second-hand store, students easily found the way for a vintage tweed jacket or a nice shirt. Today Steppin' Out has 15 stores in The Netherlands, still a go to heaven for the prepsters around us. Stocked with products from brands like William Lockie, Barbour, Sebago and many more, but also a great collection Steppin' Out shirts, pants, knits etc.

This new concept store has the influence of a Long Island beach house combined with an English Estateand a touch of a New York loft. Warm wood, crisp tiles and colors in summer white and denim blue, steel elements and a tin ceiling above the cash desk.

Hope to see you soon in Amsterdam.

CHAD @ THE AMSTERDAM DENIM DAYS 2016

I had a lot of fun yesterday at the Amsterdam Denim Days. Today will be the last day of this blue event which took over Amsterdam for about a week. The Blueprint show at the Westergasfabriek was one of the highlights with brands like, Denham, Lee, K.O.I., Scotch & Soda, G-Star, Tommy Denim and Calvin Klein the only brand which just show white denim. But also the Jean School of Amsterdam, Red Wing and such are present. Highlights of the day are the portrait of Ayrton Senna by Ian Berry and an exhibition by the Vintage Showroom, London with a theme called the Dust Bowl.  If you have the time today and you are in Amsterdam stop by to check for yourself.

CHAD & ARROW @ DE MODEFABRIEK, AMSTERDAM

Last weekend Amsterdam was the centre of the Fashion Universe. As you maybe or maybe not know
I'm the agent for Arrow in The Netherlands and we had the opportunity to show our Fall/Winter 2015
collection to the retailers at de Modefabriek.
The collection of Arrow is based on 3 capsules. We have a great Classic program with nice dress shirts in faux uni, checks, stripes and of course some prints. The second capsule is Casual, for a complete outfit such as shirts, knitwear like the donegal with shawl collar and my favorite piece the Monty Coat a shorter version which makes it more 2015. And last but not least the Arrow Blue Jeans program. a shirt program made like a blue-pack.
This issue of de Modefabriek was well visited with retailers from The Netherlands & Belgium. I enjoyed it very much and the best part, you will find Arrow in even more stores comparing to last year.

A GARAGE LOFT BY BRICKS AMSTERDAM

No this ain't in the hipster arena of Brooklyn or somewhere in Manhattan, this is Amsterdam.
This old garage in Amsterdam was turned in to a loft by BRICKS Amsterdam.

After several years of experience as a designer for the renowned Kelly Hoppen, James van der Velden set up shop in Amsterdam in 2010. BRICKS Amsterdam emanates the perfect blend of his artistic upbringing and his love for design, resulting in a distinct style. By combining classical elements with a broad contemporary approach, it can be described as ‘Timeless Eclecticism’.
