NIGEL CABOURN FALL/WINTER 2016 PRESENTATION

Nigel Cabourn presented his Fall/Winter 2016 collection during LCM in his store called The Army Gym in London's Henrietta Street. Combined with the looks he did for the collaboration with workwear brand Lybro and Converse. I really dig the sweater program shown in the last pic.

NIGEL CABOURN SPRING/SUMMER 2016

Nigel Cabourn can be described in one word: consistent. The British designer has been running his namesake label for nearly 50 years with no sign of slowing down.

As expected, Cabourn presented a British workwear-inspired collection with a certain sense of modernity that can only come from him. Yes, we do get a “heritage” vibe here, but there’s more going on. Extra baggy khaki trousers compliment long dresshirts with pockets. Did we mention overalls? About 30% of this collection is also a collaboration between Cabourn and Lybro, a 1920s Liverpool workwear brand recently revived by him. Even the signs used as props in this lookbook are genuine 1940s Lybro vintage advertisements — consistency at its best.

Just across the street from The Real Mccoy's you'll find Nigel Cabourn's The Army Gym.

 The Army Gym is the first Nigel Cabourn store in Europe (with several stores across Japan), and has just opened its doors in September 2014.

I was welcomed by Bryan York who was happy to show me around in this beautiful decorated store.

The clean interior is done up with warm wooden tones and soft natural lighting, decorated with miscellaneous vintage goods to underline the feeling of old-school aviation. Brian told me that if

they didn't stop Nigel, the store would be pact with his vintage collection. They just received the first drop of SS15 collection enough blue and off white tones to welcome spring.

NIGEL CABOURN, THE ARMY GYM - TOKYO

Coming Wednesday I will cross the pond to London to visit Jacket Required @ the Old Truman Brewery and do some shopping in town, for sure I will check out the recently opened Nigel Cabourn Store in London, but for now I want to share the pictures of the Army Gym Tokyo.

 In this shop you can find the separate Nigel Cabourn line produced especially for the Japanese market, almost all of these pieces are not available globally, but rather only in the six Cabourn shops located in different cities all across Japan. And even within these six shops, most only have a fraction of the entire collection, likely because the collection is so large it'd be logistically difficult to have it stocked at all of the different shops.
