Carrie and Matt Eddmenson opened their denim emporium Imogene + Willie in early 2009, in an old gas station in Nashville, Tn. Here they sell their semi-custom, hand-sewn selvage denim jeans, which start at $200 and require one or more fittings. Furthermore the store sells handpicked denim from select brands like J.Brand and A.P.C,Levi's Vintage, and vintage pieces like cowboy leather jackets and boots. I have to plan a trip to the Capital of Country Music asap.
Nick Wooster (Neiman Marcus Group's Fashion Director) mentioned in an interview with Racked that they will have an exclusive with Todd Snyder. He was originally menswear designer at J. Crew, and he's put together a great American sportswear package with European influences. (read also a Q & A with the designer at Gilt)
Growing up in La Jolla, Ca (just above San Diego), Jeff Divine began taking pictures of fellow surfers in his hometown during the 1960's and got to know the original alternative sport before mainstream media blew it into the commercial circus today. His photo focus took him into a staff position in 1971 with surfers magazine. In 1981, he would become the photo editor of the magazine, a position he held for 16 years.
