COUNTRY HOUSE - AUTHENTIC BLUE

One of my favorite stores in The Netherlands is Country House.

I already posted several times some pictures of this Authentic Blue store, which is since 1981 the local hero of Rotterdam with brands like CP Company, Woolwich, Pike Brothers, Red Wing, Filson, Armor Lux, PRPS etc. Yep indeed a guys paradise. The store is located in one of the nicest streets of Rotterdam called the Meent, surrounded by specialty stores and nice restaurants. This time I wanted to show you with how many love the and eye for detail the store is decorated. So whenever you touch the grounds of Rotterdam make sure you pay Harry & Ronald a visit.

COUNTRY HOUSE AUTHENTIC BLUE AW 2013

A new Season, a new visit @ Country House Authentic Blue.

It's always a pleasure to meet up with Harry Polderman owner of Country House. With a cup of coffee in our hand he explains the collection to me, which brands are new and the specialties of his other brands. One of the new guys in town is Pike Brothers, known for their raw denims. One of Pike's eye catchers is the Denim Overall presented under a tin cloth jacket from Filson. Speaking of Filson, Country House is one of the few stores world-wide who sells vintage Filson bags, presented on the wall with a Woolrich Parka. My personal favorite in store is the Filson Guide Work Jacket in Harris Tweed. (btw it isn't Harry on the picture it's a Authentic Blue fan, who came to show his 1988 bike)

CHAD GETS AN ITALIAN SHAVE @ NEW YORK BARBERSHOP

Last week I had my very first Italian shave at New York Barbershop, located in Hotel New York, once the head office of the Holland America-Line. When you enter New York Barbershop it feels like you are going back in time. The retro interior, including the American Barber chairs gives you the feeling like you are in an original Brooklyn Barbershop from the roaring 30s. While waiting you will be enjoying an excellent espresso and the sounds of jazz music from the record player. I was pampered for half an hour with an Italian Shave, hot & cold towels to ease the skin and after the shave my face was splashed with the limited edition fragrance of Aqua di Parma called Colonia Intensa Oud.

This was a great experience, great hospitality and nice staff, I'll be back!

I love to show you these pics of Country House, Rotterdam filled with the Fall/Winter 2012.

My first visit was in March this year and I was happy to see that the store still looks like a million dollar.

The collection is hand picked by Harry Polderman, like there are some beautiful pieces from Nigel Cabourn, woolen shirts from Pendleton, 30th anniversary jackets from Stone Island a range of Buttero shoes and much much more. If you tell the team, Chad sended you......., you will get a great cup of coffee.
