INSPIRING INDUSTRIAL ROOMS

I love the factory-style windows & doors in these rooms. The combination of the white crisp walls and a concrete or a rugged wooden floor make those rooms very masculine.

KEMO SABE - THE WILD WEST IN SIN CITY

"Kemo Sabe" is a Native American word which means faithful friend, and that's the way
Tom & Nancy Yoder like you to feel when you enter their store. They opened their first store in Aspen in 1990 and since October this year they have a "trading post" in Las Vegas. This is Cowboy heaven, you find here everything from top to toe or better said from hat to boot and everything in between.
At the Stetson Hat Bar they even can customize your brand new hat with sweat stains and bullet holes.
As the Las Vegas Rodeo was in town, you could find a lot of Cowboys in the store as you can see in the picture with the trophy bull. Do you know what you see in the last picture………? No, that's not your cup of tea, that's what they call the balls of the bull.

COUNTRY HOUSE AUTHENTIC BLUE AW 2013

A new Season, a new visit @ Country House Authentic Blue.

It's always a pleasure to meet up with Harry Polderman owner of Country House. With a cup of coffee in our hand he explains the collection to me, which brands are new and the specialties of his other brands. One of the new guys in town is Pike Brothers, known for their raw denims. One of Pike's eye catchers is the Denim Overall presented under a tin cloth jacket from Filson. Speaking of Filson, Country House is one of the few stores world-wide who sells vintage Filson bags, presented on the wall with a Woolrich Parka. My personal favorite in store is the Filson Guide Work Jacket in Harris Tweed. (btw it isn't Harry on the picture it's a Authentic Blue fan, who came to show his 1988 bike)

GANT RUGGER - JE SUIS UN PARISIEN

Few months after New York, Los Angeles and London, GANT Rugger opened on August 26 its first Parisian boutique at 116 Rue Vieille du Temple. The boutique, so American butcher’s shop, was imagined by Christopher Bastin, Creative Director of the brand since 2009. Inspired by his two passions, fashion and cuisine, he mixes white tiles, wooden shelves, vintage furniture and copper pans hanging on a butcher’s block. The gross floor and brick walls present in the original architecture of the building have been preserved and provide the space a contemporary charm. We also find the iconic objects of the brand in the store including handmade knives and aprons in denim reminiscent of the spirit of the New York kitchen. In this cosmopolitan decor displays contemporary and timeless Fall/Winter 2013 collection. Chinos, knit sweaters and classic woven shirts brought honor to the American heritage of the brand. They combine with fitted suits, sophisticated but casual and with pieces of various influences – workwear, military or sartoriales – made of innovative materials. In addition to the collection, we find at the store, This is a cookbook: recipes for real life by Max and Eli Sussman, a book of modern urban kitchen selected by Christopher Bastin which proves that, far from being just a label mode, Gant Rugger testament to a lifestyle.

CHAD MEETS JACK SPADE

Most of you already know that I have a weakness for Jack Spade, I love their products, the bags, the wallets and the collab. with Barbour etc. But what I like the most is the quirky way they display their stores and the use of props. The store on Abbott Kinney is displayed in the same way as I saw in the stores and showroom in New York & the store in London. Once they might open a store in Amsterdam, when I'm lucky!

CHAD @ GANT RUGGER VENICE, CA.

GANT Rugger @  Abbott Kinney BLVD, called by GQ the coolest block in America and won the LA Racked Award for Best Men's Store 2012.
Do I need more reasons to pay them a visit? I was welcomed by Rene & Danny, who showed me around and told me that the flooring came from an old gym. The fitting rooms are made from old doors and the wall system is a Danish design from the 50s designed by Poul Cadovius. The store is cleaner then the stores I visited in New York. call it "West Coast Style". In the store you can find the collections of Gant Rugger, Yale Shirts and Gant by Michael Bastian. Even a nicely curated collection of Gant By Michal Bastian for the girls. Rene & Danny told me that some Hollywood celebs already found their way to the store, just to drop a name Ed Helms (Hangover) is a regular.

THE BROOKLYN CIRCUS

I promised you yesterday some goodies, well here they are! Last saterday I visited The Brooklyn Circus shop. The guys were so nice to let me shoot some pictures to share with you. I very much like the style of the updated varsity inspired clothes and the old props, like the football helmets etc. You can see and feel that everything they do in the store is with love, how they present the garments and how they welcome and help the customers, like myself.

"The Brooklyn Circus/BKc story begins in 2006 in a quaint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York with the aim to strengthen consumers’ appreciation for classic aesthetics and antique motifs whilst upholding the pillars of modern design within a hundred year plan. With time-tested values of classic American craftsmanship, a love for urban tradition, vintage sensibilities, and an endless search for the timeless silhouette"
