WOOLRICH FLAGSHIP STORE NEW YORK

Woolrich opened it's first North American flagship store in New York, located at 125 Wooster Street in the Soho neighborhood. The two-level flagship carries men’s and women’s clothing and accessories but also the men’s collection of Woolrich Woolen Mills.

The Soho flagship is designed as a contemporary retrospective of the company’s 184-year history. Vintage items from the original Pennsylvania mill, including wool-production tools, swatch cards, catalogues and various garments from the historical Woolrich archive, decorate the space.

The 1,400-square foot ground floor features antique windows and furniture, recovered from an old hardware store, while the 500-square-foot basement level is designed as a contemporary “Woolrich Men’s Club” which will double as an event space.

The ground floor highlights the Woolrich John Rich & Bros. collection―notably, the full range of iconic Arctic Parkas which is finally available in the U.S., the basement level will house the brands’ made-in-America product, including blankets and bags and the Mark McNairy-designed Woolrich Woolen Mills collection.

WOOLRICH JOHN RICH & BROS - FALL/WINTER 2014

Woolrich John Rich & Bros. release their Fall/Winter 2014 lookbook of the brand’s signature outerwear. Solid shades — mostly natural blue — take up the collection with hints of print in camo and plaid, on “transeasonal” layering basics and heavy-duty parkas. The lineup is functional, with packable down jackets and wet-weather anoraks and coats with removable lining. (text via Selectism & you can also find more pics here)

WOOLRICH X TOPO DESIGNS

I already planned in an earlier stage to write about Topo Design, but their newest collab with Woolrich made me do it right away.

Topo designs is a bag, pack, accessories and apparel company based in Denver, Colorado. In 2008, 3 friends who grew up together and love the outdoors, decided to start their own bag company. Topo Designs bring simplicity, style and quality to outdoor gear. The name is based on topographic maps—"that logo makes more sense now, right? We really want to embody that outdoor western spirit - and the idea of grabbing a topographic map, compass and heading into the wild is something that not only appeals to us, but that we've spent a fair amount of time doing" says Mark Hansen one of the co-founders. 

AGE DOESN'T HAVE TO COME WITH TIME

The limited edition project utilizes an innovative design process that lends a vintage, worn-in vibe to the iconic Woolrich Arctic Parka. Each parka is hand-sprayed, hand-stitched and washed until it looks “Aged to Perfection”. Hand-stitching and embroidered American flags on the sleeves highlight the brand’s heritage and long-standing roots in U.S. garment history, while still maintaining a contemporary design aesthetic.

The six piece “Aged to Perfection” capsule collection will be available at retailers worldwide, as well as the Woolrich John Rich & Bros. online store.

COUNTRY HOUSE, ROTTERDAM FALL 2012

I love to show you these pics of Country House, Rotterdam filled with the Fall/Winter 2012.

My first visit was in March this year and I was happy to see that the store still looks like a million dollar.

The collection is hand picked by Harry Polderman, like there are some beautiful pieces from Nigel Cabourn, woolen shirts from Pendleton, 30th anniversary jackets from Stone Island a range of Buttero shoes and much much more. If you tell the team, Chad sended you......., you will get a great cup of coffee.

STORE LOCATOR - WOOLRICH MAASTRICHT

Today, the very first Woolrich store opened their doors in Maastricht, The Netherlands. I had the opportunity to shoot the first pictures, with the carpenter and the visual merchandiser from Milan still working to finalize the store for the weekend. On the ground floor you can find the mens collection, the build in wall units are covered with jute and go all the way up to the ceiling. They played with the height to create a "stock feeling" where rolls of fabric and the jackets are used as props. Vintage ads are used on the walls to tell the history of the brand. On the first floor you find the woman and kids collection.

 In the last picture you see the limited edition, the classic Byrd Cloth Arctic Parka, inspired by the personality and charisma of Admiral Evelyn Byrd and his expeditions, is available in 5 special “LIMTED EDITION” colors. The Byrd Cloth Arctic Parka, created in the classic American fabric patented by Admiral Byrd in the ‘30s, is made in 100% cotton which, thanks to its special fabric weave, is also wind and water resistant, features a coyote-trimmed fur hood, 80/20 feather padding and a metal zip, as seen in the original clothing items in the ‘40s.
