STEPPIN' OUT STORE NBR. 15 - AMSTERDAM

Yesterday, Steppin' Out opened it's doors at Gelderlandplein, Amsterdam. They revealed their new and elevated store concept. 

Steppin' Out started in 1983 in Utrecht as a second-hand store, students easily found the way for a vintage tweed jacket or a nice shirt. Today Steppin' Out has 15 stores in The Netherlands, still a go to heaven for the prepsters around us. Stocked with products from brands like William Lockie, Barbour, Sebago and many more, but also a great collection Steppin' Out shirts, pants, knits etc.

This new concept store has the influence of a Long Island beach house combined with an English Estateand a touch of a New York loft. Warm wood, crisp tiles and colors in summer white and denim blue, steel elements and a tin ceiling above the cash desk.

CHAMPION TEAMS UP WITH CLOTHSURGEON

Champion has announced its latest collaboration, this time teaming up with clothsurgeon. The UK label looked to the Ivy League for inspiration this time, going specifically to the midcentury period of the ’40s, ‘50s and ‘60s to create a collegiate collection with a modern twist.

Pieces in the collection include sweatshirts emblazoned with Hackney — clothsurgeon’s home town — in the style of traditional American colleges alongside letterman jackets, hoodies, cardigans and matching sweatsuit sets. Take a look through the gallery above to see the range for yourself.

The Spring/Summer 2016 Todd Snyder x Champion collection is heavily inspired by the 50th State of America. You can find Hawaiian flower prints, Hula girls and all sort of surf prints in his latest collection for Champion next to that of course also variety of NY prints.

Since Todd Snyder dusted off the brand Champion and a lot has changed since then.

Wearing a sweater or even a sweat pant is fashion today. What started as a pop-up store of the Todd Snyder x Champion collection is now a save haven for guys who are looking for that particular sweat.

The store is built or better said filled as a gym. With vintage lockers, boxing gear and even a scale to see if you are still a featherlight. The staff is very helpfull and knowledgable about the products.

Go see it for yourself, when you are in New York. They are located at 242 Elizabeth Street.

CHAD IS PART OF THE CREW

This week I finally received my very own Todd Snyder x Champion crewneck sweater and an odd short sleeve oxford shirt with jersey collar and jersey pocket.

The origin of the word crew neck is dated back to the 1930's. Named after the sweaters with this neckline worn by oarsmen. For those who don't know an oarsman is a person who rows a boat, especially a racing boat and more than one person you call it a crew.
