COLDER DAYS ARE COMING.....

Colder days are coming.....but when I don't know! Make sure that you are prepared for those colder days ahead, one of the things you need to stack in your wardrobe are rollnecks. You never can go wrong with basic colors like black, navy, burgundy, grey and camel.

Rollback or turtleneck-like garments have been worn for hundreds of years, dating at least to the 15th century.
From the late 19th century on, rollnecks were commonly worn by athletes, sailors and naval officers. Since the middle of the 20th century black rollnecks have been closely associated with radical academics, philosophers, artists and intellectuals. Just that you know where they come from. LIFE MAGAZINE COVERS FROM A FASHION POINT OF VIEW

Life magazine, is an American magazine that ran weekly from 1883 to 1972, published initially as a humor and general interest magazine. Time founder Henry Luce bought the magazine in 1936, solely so that he could acquire the rights to its name. Life was a weekly news magazine with a strong emphasis on photojournalism. We all know these icon covers with JFK on a sailing boat and a sailor who kisses a nurse. I tried to look at their covers with a fashion eye and I found some great covers with fashion statements which are still relevant. Like the first cover with the Japan jacket, Ernest Hemingway in his striped T-shirt or Mr Fonda in his camel coat who for sure inspired Kanye West.

GANT IN THE 90's

GANT Fall/Winter 1993 Brochure
GANT Fall/WInter 1994 Brochure
GANT Fall/Winter 1995 Brochure
GANT Fall/Winter 1996 Brochure

Today I found some old GANT brochures from the 90's. The first time I got in contact with the brand was the fall collection of 1993. The whole brochure was shot in the beautiful Yosemite National Park. The next year they visited the Adirondacks, back to the East Coast of the U.S.A. I will come back with some inside pics of the brochures asap.
