Rina Tanaka & Derek Harris took a deep look at the first 60 years of Lewis leathers, covering its early history detailing images of flying, motoring and motorcycle clothing from the 1920's onwards. The story told through vintage catalogues and advertising material from the company's collection along with previously unseen pictures of the Racers, Riders and Aviators who wore the brand, bringing to life the story of one of Britain's truly unique and iconic clothing companies.

Release date is end of March 2017.

SUNDAY BOOKMANIA -THE WEST BY RICHARD PHIBBS

Well finally it's sunday, time to pick up that beautiful coffeetable book that you have. Like I picked up The West by Richard Phibbs.

Phibbs's love of the West came naturally. He was born in Calgary, Alberta, home to Canada's Calgary Stampede, one of the world's great rodeos. INDIAN MOTOCYCLE JERSEYS

When you think of classic American motorcycles, two brands come to mind,

Harley-Davidson & Indian.

Indian is the first major player on the scene, rolling out production in 1901– two years before Harley-Davidson. Started in Springfield, Mass. by Oscar Hedstrom & George Hendee, a couple of bicycle racers and self-taught engineers.

The Indian factory team took the first three places in the 1911 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy.

Competition with Harley-Davidson in the early days was fierce, and factory sponsored racers were expected to be loyal– it was pretty unheard of for guys to switch allegiances back then without controversy.

The riders were proud to wear a Indian Jersey which were hand out by the factory to the drivers, those jerseys are scares and if you find one it will cost you some 400 bucks.

PS did you know that the nickname for the factory was the wigwam.

NOT JUST SMOKIN' HOT PICTURES

Eduard Planting Gallery in Amsterdam presents an exhibition to celebrate 50 years of Terry O'Neill's iconic photographs. It's the first time that his pictures are shown in Holland till 21st of April. O'Neill born in London in 1938, has photographed the most famous stars, including Frank Sinatra, Mick Jagger, David Bowie and Amy Winehouse. His pictures created the image of the artists.
