HICKOREE'S, BROOKLYN - 2nd FLOOR

No sign on the facade, but a sign on the pavement tells you that Hickoree's Hard Goods is located here! For me it's in the middle of nowhere, but for the brothers Corsillo it's the place they give their ecom-shop a face. As I already ordered some pocket squares and ties from The Hill-side online I was longing to see where all these goodies come from. Here on the 2nd floor of 109 South 6th Street Williamsburg - New York, you can touch and try everything in real life. The shipping department and stock of the online shop is located just behind the cash register, here both worlds come together.

GANT CAMPUS STORE, HAARLEM

Today it was the launch of the second Gant Campus Store in The Netherlands, last year the brand with the roots in New Haven, CT & Yale opened the first one in Maastricht. Haarlem is the place to be for up to date prepstars. The store brings the best of Gant Mainline, Gant by Michael Bastian and unique in the Benelux a collection of Gant Rugger. I had the chance to get my Yale shirt personalized. The evening was filled with beer, Ketel 1 cocktails or straight and Hamburgers like the ones you get at Louis Lunch in New Haven, CT. The Gant Campus breathes Ivy Leaugue, Rowing, Campus Library, everything is well thought, like the wall paper with ads from the early 50's. And what to say about the oars used for a wall unit or the desk at the front. If you close your eyes you see Mr. Bernard Gant himself placing the orders of the fabrics for the shirts. NO DIRTY LAUNDRY

No, don't bring you're dirty laundry to this place! It's just an old sign, behind the doors you'll find a beautiful displayed store named Stuart & Wright. Here you can find brands like Our Legacy, Engineerd Garments, Nike, New Balance, Gitman Vintage etc. Pay the store a visit, when you are on your way to Brooklyn Flea. 

THE BROOKLYN CIRCUS

I promised you yesterday some goodies, well here they are! Last saterday I visited The Brooklyn Circus shop. The guys were so nice to let me shoot some pictures to share with you. I very much like the style of the updated varsity inspired clothes and the old props, like the football helmets etc. You can see and feel that everything they do in the store is with love, how they present the garments and how they welcome and help the customers, like myself.

The last day of my trip, I spent in the streets of Brooklyn & Williamsburg. Did some vintage shopping at the Brooklyn Flea, wish I could ship a container, too much great goodies. After the flea market it was time to pay a visit to the shops for example Smith & Butler on Smith, but also Brooklyn Circus and Steven Alan and others, but that's for tomorrows post. Had a beer @ Diner at Broadway, maybe the outside does't look that interesting the inside is more then that. Close by Diner you can find Hickoree's on the second floor of 6th str. but also that's for later. I strolled over Bedford with all the great facades and hip & trendy people. It was very relaxed to spent a day at the other side of the bridge.
