LIFE GUARD STANDS ON SOUTH BEACH, MIAMI

 

 

 

 

 

 

These are typical Miami Style Life guard stands which are used during the day by the cool dudes of the Miami Life Guard service and during the night by the homeless, and love couples. These stands always remind me of Summer, and I'm ready for it.

It's officially the Canadian Tuxedo is back, you saw in the streets already last Spring, but for this Spring a lot of designers showed on the catwalk, like Ralph Lauren, Chloe and J.Crew for example. So don't be afraid you won't look like the Urban Cowboy or John Travolta.

The End: Montauk, N.Y. 2004 pictures by Micheal Dweck

Because, I'm from this weekend, in the surfing and Montauk mood. I thought, it's time to bring this book in for Monday Book Mania. This book from 2004 contains beautiful pictures of the surfers, which Michael Dweck followed in the 90's,  when he rented a house on Ditch Plain Beach ( site of the best surf breaks). He followed them from the early morning wave reports, to evening bonfires at the beach. 

SURF'S UP

After a lazy winter with a lot of snow and cold weather it's time to get our boards ready and bring them to the beach. As from today you can have surfing lessons in Noordwijk at Langevelderslag from Surf and Bike.

THE SURF LODGE, MONTAUK

Last year when I made a trip to the The Hamptons, I ended up in Montauk, the most eastern point of the USA. Known for their surf beaches and since 2 years for the Surf Lodge, on Fort Pond. I wasn't aware that this is the hotspot on the Island and not easy to book a room. The hotel is situated just 0,5 mile from the beach. The atmosphere is truly "Montauk", laid back, flip-flops, surfboards, the right music. When you check out their site you will hear the sound of Johnny Osbourne. Enjoy....Surf's up.

CHAD GOES TO AMSTERDAM

I got myself an invitation from the guys of AJANAKU for a brainstorm session. This will take place coming Friday in Amsterdam at the CitizenM hotel.  Don't be afraid we will start the brainstorm session after a Jameson Whiskey tasting.  For those who know me, I'm at my best after a drink!! Further I will check out the 14 square meter rooms which are fully equipped. 

KING OF HABADASHERY

 

This guy I call the King of Habadashery, whith his hat, dark rimmed glasses, tieclip, hanky, gloves, sunwear, watchchain and bracelet, but what is Habadashery?
