NIGEL CABOURN SS 2013

Volume IV The Human Story of the Great War.

Nigel Cabourn presented his Spring/Summer 2013 collection at the Bread & Butter. Thanks to the guys from Tenue de Nimes, we can all enjoy this. As the guys from TdN are saying: "We have to state here it is one of the most amazing collection he ever made full off super bright colors, great designs and fabrics and an updated (lower) price point too! Prepare for sports inspired shirting, great summer blazers and lots of selvage denim jackets and vests." I only can confirm this.

WINDSOR FLOWERS

I was a little surprised to see a brand like Windsor at the Bread & Butter placed in the L.O.C.K. area, but if you dig deeper you know why. The men's clothing factory Roos & Kahn was founded in Bielefeld, at that time the centre of German textile industry, in 1889. From 1960 the company is called Windsor and at first specializes in men's clothing and later also woman's clothing. For Spring/Summer 2013, Windsor puts together a smart collection with unconstructed cotton blazers in double breasted and 2 button styles, vests in a cotton herringbone, in different color options and lots of colors in the chino. I very much like the idea of the use of left-over fabrics from suits to make a handsome tie (as you can see in some of the pictures), a big advance is that they don't wrinkle.

GANT RUGGER @ BREAD & BUTTER

GANT Rugger presented the Spring/Summer 2013 collection at L.O.C.K. in a environment which looked like a 70's apartment. The collection is less vintage and distressed and more dressed then ever. Lots of blue tones and of course colors in the madras shirts. In an interview to the Dutch press, Christopher Bastin said "I find my inspiration on the streets, not on a catwalk"

TOMBOLINI SS 2013

The well-known sign the visual identity of the brand: the Tombolini dragon, drawn by the founder revising the coat of arms of his home town, Urbisaglia, represents Saint George on horseback while he is fighting against the dragon. Through a careful graphic reinterpretation Eugenio Tombolini summarized in a single sign horseman and dragon, including the scissors element: the forelegs of the restless animal.
