When I was in London I paid a visit to the recently opened The Real McCoy's Store and had a
nice conversation with the store manager Max Sardi, who told me that this store in Henrietta Street is the first stand alone store for The Real McCoy's in Europe
Mr Hitoshi Tsujimoto, a renowned vintage collector and dealer decided to take classic pieces of military and sportswear and recreate them with a rare and unique attention to detail. The Real McCoy’s approach extends to manufacturing the pieces using the same methods and machinery from the past and the result are timeless pieces.
The Real McCoy’s brand is a family of brands. The eponymous brand covers military related pieces, Joe McCoy includes American sportswear, denim and workwear, Double Diamond is dedicated to reproducing actual vintage work wear from the turn of the century and Buco is a motorcycle clothing brand (started by Joseph Buegeleisen). Favourite pieces include the supersoft crewnceck sweatshirts in classic colours and cuts, the M-65 Field Jacket in drab green and of course the hoodies.
