GANT RUGGER PRE-SPRING 2014 - TRAVELING THE ORIENT

 

GANT Rugger's all-American boy takes a trip to the restored Orient Express for their pre-spring 2014 collection outing. Transforming American sportswear pieces with an injection of Italian flamboyance

and Scandinavian simplicity, their aesthetic hits a new stride with an extra punch, the tuxedo jacket is enlisted in an Italian silk paisley finish while the army green jacket is transformed with an all over zebra print lining. A FEW DAYS LEFT........CLUB MONACO POP UP STORE

 

Okay I admit, it's a little late to post  a story about Club Monaco's Pop Up Store in Hong Kong, as it opened already on September 15, 2012 and will run through June 2013. I came across these pictures recently and I couldn't get my eyes off it, there is so much to see. (pics via Hypebeast)

IT WAS THE SUMMER OF.......SUN 68

SUN68 is an Italian casual-wear brand, dedicated to designing clothes with particular attention to details and research in materials. Which started in 2005 as the Polo Pique with a one-liner in the collar, is today a complete collection for Men, Woman and Kids, but for me it's still that polo pique which rules. As you can see in the pictures every collor has another one-liner in the collar. This season they also have a range of polo's with neon contrast, these are my favourite's for this Summer. just off the record Brian Adams made a mistake it wasn't "the Summer of '69"

Tretron Nylite was first launched in 1967. The white shoe with te dark blue "wing". Worn by Bjorn Borg when winning the Wimbledon 1976, the era when tennnis stars made rock stars blush, and immortalized by 1980's The Official Preppy Handbook. The Nylite epitomizes Swedish minimalism. This season Club Monaco collaborates with Treton with special collors, only available via their webshop.

THE BEACH HOUSE OF MR. RRL - DOUG BIHLMAIER

Mister Mort had the change to take a peak in Doug Bihlmaier's beach house. We all know Doug as Mr. RRL, he started in the 80s as a stylist for Ralph Lauren, developing the looks for the showrooms, stores and advertisements. Today he is Head of Ralph Lauren Vintage. His beach house is packed with Americana, you can see his love for Indian art as well. I don't know whether the picture of the kid in the cowboy suit is Doug in his younger years, but if it's him it make sense why he loves Western & Indian art.

In April I was invited for the GANT X Esquire bloggers event, and one of the contesters is a blog called "These Cavemen" They selected 4 outfits from the Gant Haarlem Store, they could choose from Gant Mainline, Gant Rugger and Gant by Michael Bastian. Above you can see the results. As I saw the pictures it reminded me at a photoshoot called Black Ivy by Streetetiquette in 2010.
