Got my invitation for the GANT by Michael Bastian dinner, it will be held in the Standard Grill, the hotspot restaurant of Meatpacking District. The restaurant is part of The Standard Hotel known to the locals as the "sex" hotel because the windows of the room go all the way to the floor and some people forget to close the curtains whenever they are in the mood.

Charles (1907–1978) and Ray (1912–1988) Eames were American designers, married in 1941, who worked and made major contributions in many fields of design including industrial design, furniture design, art, graphic design, film and architecture. In 1940 Charles invented the Eames Lounge Chair Wood (LCW) and the first chairs had their problems so he had to make some alterations. Even though the plywood chair was a compromise of the Eames' vision to create a single shell chair it is still a very successful design today. Following the LCW the Eames created a family of plywood chairs. The all-plywood Dining Chair Wood (DCW) was made in the same way as the LCW, but with a narrower seat, and longer legs. The Lounge Chair Metal (LCM) and Dining Chair Metal (DCM) were made of the same plywood seats and backrests as the LCW & DCW set on a metal frame. Sorry, but they didn't invent the Cappu-Eames, that was made by a design-barista. Speaking of coffee......

ONE WEEK TO GO!

Just 7 days to go and I will touch the ground of JFK airport, New York. I made my to do list with all the addresses of the stores I want to visit, from Department Stores , Chains like Abercrombie to the coolest jean shop in Brooklyn everything is on the list. On saterday I'm invited for the GANT by Michael Bastian introduction at a Gym. I'm very curious what this will bring, I'll keep you posted!!

Rugby is where casual campus style meets downtown prep. The signature of the brand is the authentic rugby shirt, a symbol of their classic, sporting heritage. The brand was launched in 2004 by Ralph Lauren as a answer to the Abercrombie & Fitch "gang". It's available in 11 stores in the USA, mostly located in a city with a university. Their flagship store is at 99 University Place, New York. So, you don't have to guess whether this store is on my list, yes or no!

JUST TAG IT

Once just a sign that you had a suit or a shirt made by Union labour, later used as a sign that you bought a brand with "history". Some brands really have that history others don't. The Amalgamated cloting workers of America was founded 1914 and in it's heyday's it has 100.000 members.
