CHAD'S FACTORY VISIT - FILSON SEATTLE

In May 2018, I travelled again to the USA and this time I conquered the North-West region, starting in Seattle, WA. I was lucky to arrive one hour before schedule in order for me to have time to visit the factory tour at the Filson Seattle headquarters to see how craftspeople take the best raw materials Filson can find from around the world and turn them into garments, bags and gear that last for generations.

After the tour, I spent some time at the flagship store which is decorated with love and passion. Availabele in this store is a Filson Restoration Department with one of a kind products some are rebuilt from Filson originals, while others are completely unique built from pieces of repaired luggage.

If you every have the change to visit Seattle, make sure you stop by the Filson store and book your tour.

CHAD'S STORELOCATER - FILSON, LONDON

It's an open door if I tell you that I have a weakness for Filson. Two weeks ago on my trip to London I finally had the change to visit the first European Store of Filson, located in the heart of SoHo, London. In the Newburgh street store you will find jackets, small leather goods, bags, and luggage all inspired by outdoor pursuits.  There is also an assortment of authentic special edition worn-in Filson luggage.

FILSON OUTFITTERS FOR THE EAST

Okay, I admit I'm a sucker for Filson!
On my last day in New York I just had one mission, buy a Mackinaw Wool vest in the red & black plaid. The best place to do so is the rather fresh opened outpost of Filson in New York on 40 Great Jones Street. The store is packed with the brands signature luggage and outerwear as well as its new collection of Magnum camera bags. I really loved the bag wall which is made of reclaimed wood from the Williamsburg Domino Sugar factory.

The driving force behind Atelier de l'Armée Elza & Joost set the next step and created
Atelier de l’Armée Series.

The first Series collection F/W14 is made for the every day city cyclist, the outdoorsman and the ad- venture seeker who likes to travel in style. Prepared for the unpredictable weather changes, the Series collection uses a lot of water repellent military can- vasses and dead stock cordura fabrics. To support the local community this season’s collection is manufactured in a small factory in the Netherlands.
