In 1853, one year before Louis Vuitton was founded, Francois Goyard took over a trunkmaking workshop where he formed what is now known as Maison E. Goyard - the "E" being a homage to his father Edme. The Goyard's famous "Y" chevron pattern representing the Goyard family tree. The fabric has a pattern of three chevrons, placed together to form the letter "Y". Today you can order your bag with your initials or stripes in your favorite colors. Whenever you are in Paris visit the shop at 352 Rue St. Honore.
