GRAND OLE OPENING OF DOUBLE RL NASHVILLE

Double RL is going to be popping up in Nashville.

Ralph Lauren opened a shop for the Western- and workwear-themed collection at 1200 Villa Place in the city’s Edgehill district. It will remain open for 15 months.

The shop, which is intended to be an homage to the music and Western themes of Nashville, will feature turn-of-the-century industrial and haberdashery fixtures along with one-of-a-kind artwork and objects sourced from around the world. It will carry men’s and women’s apparel and accessories along with a selection of vintage product.

The company said it chose Nashville for the shop because the city authentically reflects the brand’s ethos

RRL COLLECTOR AND FAN @ LARGE

Some of you might follow Mark Large on instagram, he is a true collector and fan of Double RL and Ralph Lauren. In an interview in The Rake he says #RRL is his devotion but his would say it is his obsession. Mark is the first to admit that his dress sense is.....well, eclectic? Fickle? Random in the best possible sense of the word. I personally love the way Mark layers his pieces with a lot of attention to detail. Check all Mark pictures on instagram his account is @1lrg.

HOW TO BUILD A DOUBLE RL WINDOW

Most of the time we pass a window and we don't even look. We don't see the effort all those people made for just one window. But here you can see what much work it is to think through the theme, what props do you need to set the scene. Where did they get the inspiration from etc etc etc. We all know that Ralph's team is the best in storytelling and leading us in a phantasy world.

DOUBLE RL SPRING 2017 CATALOGUE

The Spring 2017 catalogue of Ralph's Double RL is completely inspired by the Double RL Ranch.

Ralph and his wife, Ricky, bought this breathtaking property in 1982. Parts of the original western classic True Grit, starring John Wayne, were filmed here.

Occupying some 16,000 acres beneath the snowcapped San Juan Mountains is the Double RL Ranch, the Colorado getaway of fashion designer Ralph Lauren and his wife, Ricky. "Colorado was for us an escape," he says. "It wasn't about being in fashion. It wasn't about saying, Wouldn't it be nice to have this cute ranch!' It was about a life that would be different, that would be freer—that would have nature and trees and animals and big sky."
