MONDAY BOOK MANIA
Yosemite, a book by Glen Denny who was a photographer and climber. He pictured his fellow climbers in the 60's in Yosemite National Park. The granite walls of Yosemite Valley have drawn a lot of visitors over the years. In the late 1950's and through the 60's, they galvanized a group of rock climbers, who saw their glacier-polished faces as the urest challange. When those climbers first made their way up Half Dome and El Captain, they ushered in a new era. They developed techniques, tools and philosophies that would change the sport forever.

BOOK MANIA MONDAY
Island Life by India Hicks
This book give me inspiration to transfer the house from the cosy warm winter style into a summerstyle cottage with influence from the Bahamas. India Hicks is the daughter of designer David Hicks and she had to say granddad to Louis Lord Mountbatten. She moved to the Bahamas after a career as model and on that Island she opened a hotel and decorated 3 homes which you can see in the book.

A privileged life, written by Susanna Salk
This book is all about the preppie or Wasp (White Anglo Saxon Protestant) lifestyle of the East Coast. How they dress, how they party, where they go to school and which sports they do. It's a great inspirational book for American Sportswear lovers.

MONDAY BOOK MANIA
Walking through Brooklyn last week, I remembered, that I had this book. Vanashing America, the end of Mainstreet Diners, Drive Ins, Donut shops and other everday monuments, is written by Michael Eastman. It's a great catalog of things that are falling down and coming apart across the US, signs and structures that at, one time seemed to define, what America was. And I guess, they still do, maybe even more so, now that they’re in ruins.

This great book with pictures from Annie Leibovitz, shot between 1999 and 2002 is great nostalgia trip through music history. The title in old woodblock-looking type, American Music. On the back cover is mentioned that the cover image is the turntable, left in Elvis Presley’s bedroom the day he died. An excellent selection of musician portraits plus some pictures of wooden jook joints and wide open fields in the South. This book looks great on your coffee table!
